Netflix is venturing into Korean medical drama production for the first time. They’re slated to commence filming ‘The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call,’ adapted from Hansanyiga’s web novel ‘Emergency Center: Golden Hour,’ by the end of May 2023.”
The series will comprise 8 episodes and is scheduled for release in 2024.
Synopsis of The Trauma Code: Heroes on call
This narrative follows Baek Kang-hyuk, an exceptional trauma surgeon accustomed to operating in war zones. He joins a challenging trauma team at a university hospital, where saving more patients leads to larger deficits. He transforms the previously inefficient trauma team into an effective life-saving Trauma Center.

Ju Ji-hoon(주지훈) portrays Baek Gang-hyeok
He is a brilliant trauma surgeon previously associated with a private military company, operating in war zones. Standing close to 190cm tall, he boasts a robust physique with well-defined muscles and extraordinarily acute senses of vision, smell, and touch. Known as ‘Hand of God,’ ‘Mad Dog,’ and ‘Surgical Devil,’ he derives strength from tormenting the doctors and nurses in his vicinity.
Chu Yeong-woo(추영우) Portrays Yang Jae-won
He was a general surgery fellow with a specialization in proctology, enticed by Baek Kang-hyuk to join the trauma team. He became Baek Kang-hyuk’s primary follower and disciple.
Yoon Kyung-ho(윤경호) Portrays Han Yoo-rim
Initially serving as chief of general surgery and proctology, assisting Baek Kang-hyuk in trauma surgeries, and later joining the trauma center as a member.
Ha Young(하영) Portrays Cheon Jang-mi
A nurse within the trauma team, known for her straightforward personality and exceptional skills as an operating room nurse. She’s the only one capable of standing up to Baek Kang-hyuk
Jung Jae-gwang(정재광) Portrays Park Kyung-won
He serves as the anesthesiologist at the trauma center, displaying exceptional skill and acting as Baek Kang-hyuk’s right-hand in anesthesia.
